ANDRITZ chosen for large carbon capture plant in Denmark
ESWET member ANDRITZ has been selected by Danish utility company Kredsløb as the supplier for one of Europe’s large carbon capture plants.
Located in Aarhus, Denmark, the plant will aim to capture up to 435,000 tons of CO₂ annually from district heating flue gases, supporting Denmark’s climate objectives and Aarhus’ goal of achieving CO₂ neutrality.
The project will rely on amine-based carbon capture technology, using chemical company BASF’s OASE® blue process under license.
ANDRITZ has already received the approval to conduct a pre-engineering study of the facility. The project’s implementation will depend on Kredsløb receiving funding from the Danish CCS pool, with a decision expected in 2026.
