The goal is to provide participants with in-depth knowledge about Waste-to-Energy plants.

Starting with basic information on waste properties and chemical reactions, participants will learn about incineration technology, energy recovery, mitigation techniques, mechanical pre-treatment of waste, residues recovery and treatment, environmental impact, carbon capture, legal framework, contracting, pricing, project communication and public acceptance.

Experts from ISWA Austria, ISWA’s Working Group on Energy Recovery and from the municipality of Vienna’s waste department will share their knowledge with the study group.
