The Sardinia Symposium is a biennial event organized by the International Waste Working Group (IWWG), with the scientific support of the Universities of Padova, Tongji, Fukuoka and the Technical Universities of Luleå and Hamburg.
Founded in 1987, the conference usually gathers more than 600 participants from all around the world, with more than 400 papers presented at each edition, making the Sardinia Symposium the most important solid waste management conference in the world.
The 18th edition will take place at the Forte Village Resort in S. Margherita di Pula, Cagliari (Italy) from 11 to 15 October 2021.
For the first time, the event will be held in a hybrid format, combining an in-person conference experience with a virtual component.
Delegates can attend both in-person or online from wherever they are in the world. Attendees will experience all the usual highlights of Sardinia Symposia including leading keynote presentations, parallel oral sessions, practical workshops, poster presentations, commercial exhibition and outstanding networking opportunities.
Through a powerful virtual platform, delegates will also be able to explore live and on-demand content, interact in live streamed Q&A discussions and engage virtually with other industry professionals.
