Venice Symposium 2026 on Energy from Biomass and Waste
VENICE 2026 – 11th International Symposium on Energy from Biomass and Waste – will be held from 23 to 25 November 2026 at the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal in Venice, Italy.
The Symposium is organised by IWWG–International Waste Working Group with the scientific involvement of the Universities of Kyoto (JP), Padova (IT), Queensland (AU), Rostock (DE), Tongji (CN), and Sultan Qaboos University (OM).
This edition marks a significant milestone: 20 years since the Symposium was first established. Since 2006, the Venice Symposium has been held every two years, playing a pioneering role in broadening the concept of waste-to-energy to encompass all forms of energy recovery from waste and biomass, and growing into one of the leading international scientific conferences in the field.
The conference programme will include parallel tracks of oral sessions, workshops, poster presentations, a commercial exhibition, social events and many other engaging activities.

The conference topics broadly cover all aspects of energy recovery from biomass and waste, including: feedstocks, conversion processes, energy outputs, policies, strategies & regulations, global climate change, economic aspects, decision tools, communication.
