Keppel Seghers to jump start new Waste-to-Energy plant near Grenoble
Keppel Seghers has been awarded a contract by Grenoble Alpes Metropole to design and build the process lot for the construction of a new waste-to-energy plant (WtE) at the Athanor site in La Tronche, near Grenoble.
In this new plant, Keppel Seghers will design, supply, install and commission two complete WtE lines with a capacity of 82,500 tons per year of non-recyclable waste.
The Keppel Seghers’ solution chosen by Grenoble Alpes is optimal, efficient and forward-looking. This solution will enable the Grenoble Alpes Metropole to make the most of its non-recyclable waste by supplying its district heating networks in a sustainable way, as well as producing a maximum amount of green electricity with minimal emission within the strictest standards.
The new Athanor WtE plant is being designed by the project management consortium BG-WSP, ARTELIA, TBF, AIA, with a focus on environmental and social responsibility.
