In cooperation with its joint-venture partner MYTILINEOS, Standardkessel Baumgarte will build a new Energy from Waste (EfW) plant at the Protos strategic energy and resource hub near Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England. The client is a consortium comprising the companies Covanta, Green Investment Group and Biffa.

By thermally treating 400,000 tonnes per year of non-recyclable household, commercial [&] industrial waste, the two lines will each generate 74 MW(th) of steam for use in the production of 49 MW of electricity.
