Sumitomo SHI FW’s Calcium Looping solution (SFW CaL+)
Carbon capture is a valuable option in addressing many emissions-generating industries.
Calcium looping (CaL) is an integrated energy generation and carbon capture technology. It harnesses calcium’s absorbent qualities to remove carbon from different flue gases.
In addition, CaL produces useful by-products for the cement and lime industry. Within the ongoing CaLby2030 project, Sumitomo SHI FW is scaling-up the SFW CaL+ solution in a Waste-to-Energy plant, together with its industrial partner Gruppo Iren.
