The Lugano-based company Jaipur Robotics will use the funding to expand its computer vision technology to more waste-to-energy and industrial sites across Europe and beyond.

Lugano, Switzerland – ESWET member Jaipur Robotics, a Swiss company specialising in computer vision and AI for industrial plant operations, has announced a €4.3 million seed round led by EquityPitcher Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF). With a growing customer base across Europe, the company plans to use the funding to expand into new regions and enhance its product offerings for the waste-to-energy (WtE) sector and other industrial applications.

‘We envisage a future where data from waste drives safety and automation,’ said Ermes Zamboni, Co-Founder and CEO of Jaipur Robotics. ‘This round enables us to revolutionise entire plant operations.’

Of the more than 3,100 WtE plants operating worldwide in a market worth an estimated €40 billion, the majority still rely on manual monitoring and analogue processes. Jaipur Robotics’ technology turns waste data into actionable insights, delivering measurable results at customer sites, including:

• Over 80% fewer unplanned shutdowns through real-time hazard detection, improving safety and reducing downtime
• More than EUR 1 million in added value per plant per year from improved waste mixing, as calorific-value mapping optimises combustion and compliance
• Smarter crane operations with predictive guidance automating crane control and maximising productivity

The company’s system is built on what it describes as the largest European WtE dataset, comprising over 50 million labelled images. It analyses more than 5 million tonnes of waste annually and can detect hazardous materials with 99% accuracy.

Anna Stetter, Investment Manager at HTGF, cited Jaipur Robotics’ combination of a large dataset, a founding team with expertise in mechanical engineering, deep learning and industrial deployment, and measurable results at customer sites as key factors behind the investment. Silvan Gehmann of EquityPitcher Ventures added that the team “have built the right foundation to define this category globally”.

Founded in 2024, Jaipur Robotics is headquartered at Technopole Ticino in Manno, near Lugano. It now employs around 40 people across two R&D centres in Switzerland and Asia, and is actively hiring for AI, engineering, and commercial roles.

Such developments reflect the ongoing innovation among ESWET members in providing digital, AI-driven solutions to the waste-to-energy sector and supporting safer, more efficient plant operations across Europe.
