MARTIN will supply components for WtE plant in the Czech Republic
Slovenské Energetické Strojárne and United Energy have commissioned ESWET member MARTIN to supply the main components of the combustion and combustion air systems, and to engineer the steam generator, for the single-line waste-to-energy plant at the Komořany site (CZ).
The core component of the line will be a 3-run reverse-acting Vario grate with a throughput capacity of up to 504 tons per day and a gross heat release of approx. 52.1 MW.
The project aims to:
- Increase the plant’s efficiency and significantly reduce its environmental impact
- Allow the plant to treat up to 150,000 tons of residual waste per year in the future
- The new construction will replace around 120,000 tons of lignite a year – a huge step towards reducing CO₂ emissions
- The plant will supply up to 600 TJ of clean heat per year, meeting the needs of several thousand households
